About the position

The Operations Research/Systems Analysis (ORSA) position is focused on supporting the JT&E team by applying advanced analytical techniques to test and evaluation processes within the Department of Defense. The role requires a strong background in operations research, statistics, and data analysis, with a specific emphasis on developing and executing test plans to assess military systems and operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop test and evaluation plans for military systems.
• Conduct test design, execution, and evaluation in the DoD operational testing environment.
• Apply statistics and data analysis techniques to evaluate test results.
• Provide direction for process modeling and issue identification.
• Translate testing requirements and recommend appropriate test venues.
• Develop methodologies for quantitative and qualitative analysis in operational testing.
• Conduct technical risk assessments and develop risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• Master's Degree in a technical field (math, science, engineering, computer programming) or 10 years of test and evaluation experience if the degree is in a non-technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of test and evaluation experience.
• 10+ years of military or government civilian experience.
• Experience in developing test and evaluation plans.
• Proficiency in statistics, data analysis techniques, and computer analysis tools.
• Experience in basic modeling and simulation applications and human factors test methods.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with parametric and non-parametric statistics.
• Familiarity with survey test and evaluation methods.
• Knowledge of operational measures of effectiveness.
