About the position

The Operations Sales Account Manager at Hussmann Corporation is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with decision-makers in companies to identify HVAC/R contracting opportunities. This role involves listening to client needs and creating tailored programs or projects to meet those needs. The manager will lead business processes from conception to completion, ensuring that all aspects of the sales plan for their district are compiled and managed effectively. In this position, the manager will provide comprehensive account business reports and annual forecasts, gathering and validating preliminary information through facility walk-throughs to assess potential opportunities. They will estimate project and service agreements by analyzing and integrating various components such as equipment, controls, subcontractors, and services. The role also includes developing preliminary project/service agreement fulfillment schedules and preparing, negotiating, and reviewing agreement/project scopes. Customer retention is a key focus, with responsibilities including the renewal of customer service agreements, quoting repairs, retrofits, replacements, and scheduling routine customer visits. The manager will present and review proposals and contracts with all buying influences, negotiate the scope of agreements, and prepare transition documents to communicate project readiness to the operations team. Additionally, the role involves conducting cold calls on new and existing accounts related to new construction and remodels for supermarket refrigeration, assisting in the development of these projects, and coordinating fulfillment activities with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop relationships with decision makers for HVAC/R contracting opportunities.
  • Listen to client needs and develop tailored programs or projects.
  • Lead business processes from conception through completion.
  • Compile and manage sales plan for the district.
  • Provide total account business reports and annual forecasts.
  • Gather and validate preliminary information through facility walk-throughs.
  • Estimate project and service agreements by analyzing equipment, controls, subcontractors, and services.
  • Develop preliminary project/service agreement fulfillment schedules.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and review agreement/project scopes.
  • Ensure customer retention through the renewal of service agreements and quoting repairs.
  • Present and review proposals and contracts with buying influences.
  • Prepare transition documents for project readiness communication to operations team.
  • Conduct cold calls on new and existing accounts for new construction and remodels.
  • Assist in the development of new construction and remodel projects.
  • Plan, direct, or coordinate the distribution or movement of projects/services to customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or five years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal working hours as required.
  • Working knowledge of basic refrigeration and/or commercial refrigeration and HVAC is preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Strong leadership and business acumen.
