About the position

The Operations Senior Manager at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is responsible for providing strategic oversight and direction to a manufacturing business unit, ensuring compliance with FAA regulations while meeting company objectives in environmental health and safety (EHS), quality, financial performance, and operational efficiency. This role involves managing operations managers and staff, interacting with internal and external customers, and driving process improvements across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assign production responsibilities, work plans, and schedule requirements to department managers to ensure compliance with FAA regulations.
  • Develop strategic plans to meet cost, productivity, quality objectives, and operational goals.
  • Manage annual budgets and long-range requirements while ensuring corporate financial controls are met.
  • Collaborate with Senior Leadership to develop strategic goals and prepare the manufacturing business unit for future requirements.
  • Lead complex projects across multiple disciplines to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Oversee manufacturing strategy and initiatives, including Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement practices.
  • Coordinate with senior managers and corporate management to ensure schedules and budgets are met and issues are resolved.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by maintaining stringent housekeeping and safety standards, and leading accident investigations.
  • Implement facilities improvements for process efficiencies and lean management.
  • Troubleshoot production process problems while minimizing costs and preventing delivery delays.
  • Enforce quality standards and monitor corrective actions for workmanship issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Management, Aviation Maintenance, or related field; Master's Degree preferred.
  • 6 years of managerial experience in a technically related role, with accountability for employee relations activities.
  • Experience in writing and delivering performance reviews, making hiring and termination recommendations, and driving employee development.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Proficient in using Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Aircraft systems experience preferred.
