Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements strategic plans for power generation and water and gas utilities, aligning with the overall business objectives of SCE
  • Oversees the optimization of power generation, water and gas operations, ensuring efficiency in plant performance, reliability, and availability while minimizing downtime
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, environmental standards, safety protocols and external operational coordination with key island stakeholders
  • Manages the budget for power generation, water and gas activities, optimizing resource allocation, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising operational effectiveness
  • Identifies, assesses, and mitigates risks associated with power generation, water and gas operations, including issues related to equipment failure, supply chain disruptions, and environmental impact
  • Drives initiatives to promote environmental sustainability, including the adoption of renewable energy sources, emission reduction strategies, and waste management programs
  • Establishes key performance indicators and monitors and reports on the performance of power generation, water and gas operations, making data-driven decisions to improve overall efficiency
  • Ensures the protection of all physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accesses and manages private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports and/or project management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Three or more years of experience supervising a team of direct reports
  • Experience in environmental compliance
  • Hydrography and or water conveyance management
  • Experience with the California Independent System Operators (CAISO)
  • Strong networking capabilities, promoting cross collaboration between internal and external departments, agencies, and stakeholders.
  • 2 years experience with FERC, DSOD, USGS and USFS compliance management
