About the position

The Operations Senior Specialist at Mercer plays a vital role in the investment management back office, focusing on enhancing operations and development processes, particularly with the Charles River order management system. This position is designed for an established individual contributor who will lead and innovate within the team, directly impacting the team's outcomes and client solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance integration solutions for Mercer clients into Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS) infrastructure.
  • Work with internal IT and external vendors to create and implement automation tools to streamline operational processes.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient data flow between systems, managing data integrity and consistency.
  • Collaborate with the Mercer Tech Support team to provide technical support for the hosted order management application (e.g., CRIMS), troubleshoot issues, and implement fixes.
  • Work closely with portfolio managers, traders, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that enhance operational efficiency.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions to enhance overall performance of processes.
  • Perform additional trading operations functions as required.

Requirements

  • 3+ years in investment management or financial industry.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, retirement plans, and trading concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with the Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS).
  • Desire to build efficient and scalable solutions rather than implementing quick fixes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
