About the position

As an Operations Specialist at WinField United, a subsidiary of Land O'Lakes, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operational duties at the Plainfield, IN Agronomy Service Center (ASC). This position is designed for dependable and hard-working individuals who are eager to contribute to our mission of feeding human progress. You will be responsible for various operational tasks, including order fulfillment, inventory management, logistics, and administrative functions, all aimed at meeting the needs of the location. Your work hours will be from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM CT, with opportunities for overtime during peak seasons from April to July. In this role, you will handle all aspects of order fulfillment inquiries from customers, which includes managing communications via calls or emails, updating customers on delivery ETAs, and order statuses. You will also assist the Location Manager with forecasting and managing inbound orders and transfers. Additionally, you will support logistics by assisting in fleet routing, reporting, record management, and processing freight claims. Your administrative support will encompass general office tasks such as filing, processing purchase orders, managing office supplies, and maintaining office housekeeping. Safety compliance is also a key aspect of your responsibilities, as you will assist the Manager with safety compliance data entry as needed. Other duties may be assigned to ensure the success of the site.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of order fulfillment inquiries from customers, including communications via calls or emails.
  • Update customers on delivery ETAs and order statuses.
  • Support the Location Manager with forecasting and managing inbound orders and transfers.
  • Assist in fleet routing, reporting, record management, and processing freight claims.
  • Provide general office support, including filing, processing purchase orders, and office supply management.
  • Assist with safety compliance data entry as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned for the site's success.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required; post high school education preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of work experience required; two years of accounting or general office experience preferred.
  • Ability in fundamentals of mathematics.
  • Adequate knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and proficiency with data entry and/or digital order management systems preferred.
  • Agriculture background is a plus but not required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Post high school education preferred.
