About the position

The Operations Specialist at Aveanna Healthcare is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients, focusing on clinical operational support activities at the branch location. This role encompasses billing, payroll, personnel management, caregiver coordination, and general office support, ensuring compliance with company policies and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Conduct all billing activities in accordance with Aveanna policies and procedures.
• Manage monthly insurance verifications for active clients receiving therapy or private duty nursing.
• Request private insurance authorizations when applicable and verify payer information for new clients.
• Manage the Pending Report to align with Regional expectations and use Accounts Receivable reports to address collections issues.
• Enter weekly timesheets for caregiver staff visits and audit payroll reports for necessary adjustments.
• Process and close payroll weekly according to guidelines and prepare payroll files for corporate billing.
• Assist with caregiver onboarding and maintain secure, accurate personnel files.
• Verify and maintain caregiver credentials, including licenses and certifications.
• Coordinate with Corporate Risk Management on worker compensation claims and return to work activities.
• Establish and maintain an orientation schedule for caregiver staff and manage communication with caregivers regarding schedules and benefits.
• Assist with office support activities, including documentation filing, answering calls, and processing invoices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Proficient typing skills and Microsoft Office skills.
• Two years of general office experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in payroll, billing, and/or human resources.
• Experience in a private duty, home care, or healthcare company.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
