About the position

The Operations Specialist - Carrier Administration at Truist Bank is a full-time position focused on providing guidance and support to teammates across the retail insurance organization and third-party vendors. The role is essential for supporting the firm's growth and success by managing projects aimed at meeting operational goals, enhancing efficiency, and driving excellence in client service and agency operations. This position operates in a hybrid model, requiring 1-3 days per week in the office, allowing for flexibility while ensuring collaboration and communication with team members and stakeholders. As a subject matter expert, the Operations Specialist will address inquiries related to systems, procedures, workflows, and resources. The role involves monitoring adherence to established procedures and standards, building and maintaining relationships across various business units, carriers, vendors, and outsourcing partners. The specialist will also support the creation of improved efficiencies and cost savings, identify challenges within the line of business, and provide necessary support to resolve these issues. Participation in project groups and collaboration with team members is a key aspect of this role, ensuring that operational goals are met effectively. The position requires a proactive approach to responsibilities, with a focus on responsiveness, urgency, and professionalism. The Operations Specialist will also provide support to other operations team members as needed, contributing to a cohesive and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert for questions related to systems, procedures, workflows, and resources.
  • Monitor adherence to procedures and standards.
  • Build and maintain relationships across business units, carriers, vendors, and outsourcing partners.
  • Support creation of improved efficiencies and cost savings.
  • Identify line of business challenges, provide support, and follow through to resolution.
  • Participate in project groups and collaborate with team members.
  • Provide support to other operations team members as needed.

Requirements

  • College Degree or equivalent education, training and work-related experience.
  • Three years of experience within the insurance industry.
  • Highly effective written / verbal communication and facilitation skills.
  • Proven ability to act with responsiveness, urgency and professionalism in all matters while prioritizing responsibilities and proactively accomplishing goals.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office software products.
