About the position

The Operations Specialist role at Power Quality Components (PQC) and Energy Management Corporation (EMC) involves providing partnership and management support to the Managing Director. This position encompasses various areas including administration, sales, and operations, with a focus on ensuring the efficient running of PQC's operations headquarters. The role is designed for an individual who demonstrates integrity, effective communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The position has the potential to evolve into a managerial role for the right candidate, who will be expected to gain knowledge of the company's products and leverage that knowledge to enhance customer value.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the onsite point of contact and manager of facility.
  • Completes all necessary administrative duties as assigned.
  • Supports PQC Sales with customer interface, strategic planning and initiatives, and business development activities as directed by the Managing Director and Sales leadership.
  • Receives and records new inventory as it is delivered; inspects and stores it according to policy.
  • Conducts physical inventory, compares results to computerized inventory, and reconciles any differences.
  • Replenishes stock and inventory as needed.
  • Ensures that all stock is stored in correct locations in the warehouse.
  • Transfers inventory to shipping partners for delivery in a timely manner and according to schedule.
  • Schedules materials being transferred to and from warehouse; coordinates transfer of inventory between departments.
  • Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to develop strategic plans and procedures to increase the efficiency of operations and warehouse practices.
  • Enforces safety policies and procedures are followed in the facility.
  • Resolves routine equipment and facility issues efficiently.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years in an operational role, which includes warehouse and/or inventory management.
  • Possess a high-degree of integrity and are a self-starter.
  • Demonstrates they are highly detail-oriented.
  • Must be comfortable wearing multiple hats, and helping wherever is needed.
  • Must be resourceful and creative, capable of solving complex problems by leveraging other resources of the organization.
  • Previous experience in a power control, automation or manufacturing preferred.
  • High degree of common sense and knowledge of operational excellence; knows what it takes to 'make the trains run on time'.
