About the position

Goodale Enterprises, LLC, a family-owned crude oil company based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is seeking an Operations Specialist to join their team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in the oil industry without extensive travel, allowing for a stable work-life balance with a Monday to Friday schedule. The Operations Specialist will play a crucial role in shaping the operational strategies of the company, which has been servicing around 300 wells in Western Michigan since its inception in 1971. The Operations Specialist will collaborate closely with the General Manager to set and drive the organizational vision and operations strategy. This role requires a dedicated leader who can translate strategic objectives into actionable steps, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning. The successful candidate will oversee field operations, manage scheduling, and optimize efficiencies while fostering a culture that enables team members to thrive and meet organizational goals. Safety is a top priority, and the Operations Specialist will lead with a safety-first mindset, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards. Additionally, the role involves effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention of staff. The Operations Specialist will also ensure compliance with national and local business regulations, taking appropriate actions when necessary. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in business management and a passion for the oil industry.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze internal operations and identify areas for process enhancement
  • Implement business strategies and plans that align with the short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the General Manager
  • Monitor performance with tracking software and take corrective measures when necessary, and prepare detailed updates and forecasts
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers and partners
  • Oversee operations, which includes managing field operations and scheduling, optimizing efficiencies, and building a culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met
  • Lead with a safety-first mindset to ensure that OSHA standards are followed and understood
  • Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention
  • Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations, and take appropriate action when necessary

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in business management
  • Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and regulatory issues
  • Solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics
  • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and foresee potential issues
