About the position

The Operations Specialist (OS) Instructor is responsible for providing instructional services tailored to the unique needs of the Coast Guard, specifically in support of watch supervisor and operations unit training. This role involves delivering expert knowledge and skills to ensure that students achieve the necessary competencies as outlined in the course curricula. Instructors will evaluate student performance to verify understanding of course material and the ability to demonstrate applied knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert skills and knowledge to deliver instruction to USCG students.
• Ensure students achieve the necessary skills mandated by the course curricula and objectives.
• Evaluate students' performance by verifying their understanding of the course material and competency of learned skills.

Requirements

• Two (2) years' experience as a primary classroom instructor.
• At least 5 years of rated/commissioned operational experience as a qualified CIC Watch Supervisor and Operations Unit Controller in the U.S. Coast Guard or equivalent in the U.S. Navy.
• Three (3) years' experience in the Command, Control, and Communications field.
