About the position

The Operations Specialist at Camden National Bank is responsible for managing banking center operations, ensuring compliance with policies, and participating in sales and service processes. The role involves overseeing daily operations, managing reports, training staff, and acting as a liaison with various departments to resolve operational issues. The position emphasizes delivering excellent customer service and maintaining a secure and efficient banking environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with operational and security policies and audit results.
  • Oversee day-to-day facility management of the banking center.
  • Compile, review, and manage activities for required and special reports on operating functions.
  • Present and discuss operational issues and procedural changes at staff meetings.
  • Initiate and lead stakeholder training to improve efficiency and ensure conformance with standard procedures.
  • Act as a liaison with Branch Operations, IT, Security, and other operational areas for system and procedural issues.
  • Participate in sales and service activities primarily through referrals.
  • Deliver the best banking experience, including regular teller transactions.
  • May have responsibilities for relationship banker activities.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of bank products and services.
  • Participate in or lead activities such as scheduling, coaching, and managing referrals.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 to 4 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations and compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Knowledge of database software and internet software.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of debits and credits.
  • Working knowledge of Vertex Teller, Jack Henry Experience, CRM, Outlook, Jabber, and Cisco telephone systems.
  • Experience with customer relations.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with patience for repetitive tasks.
  • Skillful and accurate operation of a ten-key adding machine.
  • Demonstrated accuracy in numeric data processing.
