About the position

The Operations Specialist at EMD Electronics is responsible for conducting detailed investigations of customer-returned products, addressing customer complaints, and overseeing specific operational areas. This role involves mentoring junior team members, identifying inefficiencies, and contributing to site-wide initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed investigations of customer-returned products.
• Extract analytical samples from returned containers.
• Resolve container usage issues and address customer complaints.
• Oversee specific operational areas and identify inefficiencies.
• Mentor junior team members and assist in their development.
• Monitor processes and equipment to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to resolve issues and exploit opportunities.
• Assist with data generation and gathering to identify trends for improvement.
• Develop procedures and work instructions, and train others on revisions.
• Conduct root cause analysis on customer complaints and assist with written responses.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions for safety, quality, and customer complaint issues.
• Submit document changes utilizing the Management of Change (MOC) process.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience handling chemicals (preferred).
• Knowledge of 8D Methodology (preferred).
• Strong written communication skills.
• Previous experience with root cause analysis tools and processes (preferred).
• Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets and written work instructions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
• Ability to use hand tools.
