About the position

CHS Inc. is seeking an Operations Specialist to join their team in Savage, Minnesota. This role involves operating equipment for processing grain and loading rail cars and barges, ensuring compliance with company policies and government regulations. The position requires a commitment to safety and excellent customer service, with responsibilities spanning general labor, equipment operation, and maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out general labor responsibilities promptly and efficiently under general supervision.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of the commodities handled at the location and comply with company policy and government regulations.
  • Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Prepare trucks and railcars for loading/unloading, including sampling and attaching/detaching hoses.
  • Load and unload agricultural inputs from railcars and/or trucks using machinery/equipment.
  • Control and monitor all load out functions.
  • Understand and operate automated scale/dump systems.
  • Conduct and properly record maintenance tasks including lubrication and inspections of equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain quality of inventory including blended, bulk, or packaged products.
  • Deliver products such as fertilizer, chemicals, and seeds to customer sites.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in work areas, conducting regular housekeeping duties.
  • Perform grounds maintenance including snow removal.
  • Drive loader and operate forklifts for warehouse work and inventory management.
  • Report customer complaints, maintenance needs, or safety concerns to supervisor.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Must meet minimum age requirement.
  • 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
  • Agriculture experience preferred.
  • Forklift certification preferred.
