At MPC, we are dedicated to creating a workplace that embraces new ideas, encourages diverse perspectives, and fosters a collaborative team environment. The Operations Specialists play a crucial role in implementing and managing programs that enhance operations safety, compliance, reliability, efficiency, and profitability, all in alignment with MPLX G&P policies and programs. These specialists are aligned with the district they support and report directly to Operations Leadership. They will coordinate efforts with the Regional Operations Specialist Coordinator to ensure consistent methods, practices, and training quality across G&P. The Operations Specialists are responsible for developing, reviewing, revising, and managing operating procedures, ensuring compliance through proper maintenance of executed procedures. They will mentor Operations employees in writing and managing these procedures. Additionally, they will administer the regional Basic Operator Training (BOT) and manage qualification programs, ensuring that training assessments for site and field personnel are conducted effectively and that training records are maintained accurately. In this role, the Operations Specialists will assist with MPLX's continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on timely training rollouts for new standards and programs. They will serve as champions of change within their District/Area of Operations, supporting the Operations Excellence Management System (OEMS) and Operational Discipline practices. Participation in Process Safety Management (PSM) activities, including management of change and compliance audits, is also a key responsibility. The Operations Specialists will review shift logs for effective communication of operational issues, coach personnel on standardization, and manage the shift logging tool. They will support district leadership by maintaining awareness of daily activities, attending Operations meetings, and filling in for supervision during absences. Furthermore, they will act as subject matter experts to maximize operational efficiency, assist in job planning, and coordinate process operations with maintenance and project activities. Finally, they will contribute to the development of District/Area tactics aligned with MPLX G&P's guiding principles and goals, ensuring effective communication of vision and strategies.
