This position offers an opportunity to lead a fleet of drivers, ensuring their productivity and performance while contributing to the overall success of Swift Transportation. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a fleet of 10 or more drivers, focusing on maximizing their availability and productivity. You will routinely review profit and loss statements for your assigned area, seeking ways to enhance profitability. Your leadership will be crucial in developing high-performing drivers through daily interactions, coaching, and positive reinforcement. Additionally, you will be tasked with meeting drive home time expectations and managing safety performance to achieve targets related to insurance and claims costs as a percentage of revenue. This position is not just about managing a fleet; it's about being part of a larger mission to provide exceptional service and support to our drivers and customers alike.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a fleet of 10+ drivers and manage driver availability to maximize productivity.
  • Routinely review profit and loss for assigned area and find ways to maximize profitability.
  • Develop high performing drivers through daily interactions, coaching, and positive reinforcement.
  • Meet drive home time expectations by actively managing expectations and keeping commitments.
  • Maximize profit and loss for all assigned tractors and trailers.
  • Proactively manage safety performance to achieve insurance and claims cost as a percentage of revenue targets.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in the transportation industry preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and/or experience required.
  • Must be able to lead others.
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills.
  • Must be able to work in high pressure situations in a fast-paced environment.
