About the position

The Operations Specialist at CHS Inc. plays a crucial role in the grain and agronomy sector, focusing on loading and unloading agricultural products, performing maintenance, and ensuring the quality of grain and other commodities. This position is vital for maintaining operations and delivering products to customers while promoting a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload grain, agronomy, and feed products.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Monitor and maintain grain quality, mix/load fertilizer, and chemical products while assisting in loading trains.
• Deliver fertilizer, grain, feed, and fuel to customers.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of the commodities handled at the location and comply with company policy and government regulations.
• Work with customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Prepare trucks for loading/unloading, including sampling and attaching/detaching hoses.
• Control and monitor all load out functions.
• Understand and operate automated scale/dump systems.
• Conduct and record daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks.
• Monitor and maintain quality of inventory.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly, conducting regular housekeeping duties.
• Perform grounds maintenance including snow removal.
• Perform warehouse work including driving loader and forklift operation.
• Report customer complaints, repair needs, or safety concerns to supervisor.
• Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Operations and/or Business Operations
• Must meet minimum age requirement

Nice-to-haves

• Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile
• Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
• High School diploma or GED preferred
• CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred
• Agriculture experience preferred
• Forklift certification preferred
