About the position

The position is responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of gas and liquid pipelines, compressor stations, pump stations, terminals, and process plants. It involves implementing the Company Damage Prevention Program and coordinating various work group activities, including patrolling, locating, construction, and inspection of pipelines. This is an entry-level role requiring approximately six to twelve months of training and work experience to progress to the next level.

Responsibilities

  • Install, operate, and maintain pipelines, compressors, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Ensure efficient performance of engines, pumps, and associated equipment at compressor stations and process plants.
  • Start, stop, and operate engines and pumps within defined parameters.
  • Diagnose and repair engines, turbines, pumps, seals, valves, and instruments.
  • Install, repair, service, and maintain valves, pipe, and pipeline appurtenances.
  • Locate and mark facilities per Company Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures before and during excavation.
  • Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection during excavation activities near pipeline facilities.
  • Perform pipeline patrols, population density surveys, and leak detection surveys as per Company procedures.
  • Act as a liaison with landowners, public officials, and during local meetings.
  • Oversee and train Company and third-party personnel as required.
  • Inspect third-party construction as directed.
  • Identify, report, and correct safety and environmental concerns.
  • Participate in safety programs and development of operational procedures.
  • Maintain general upkeep of all facilities and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of two years of direct work experience may substitute for a degree/certification.
  • Willingness to achieve and maintain all Operator Qualifications (OQ).
  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer focus and attention to detail.

Nice-to-haves

  • Detailed knowledge of compressor or pump station operations.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and diagrams.
  • Knowledge of rubber tire backhoe operations and servicing.
  • Associate Degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Current Commercial Driver's License with Tanker and HAZMAT endorsements.
