About the position

The Operations Specialist at CHS Inc. plays a crucial role in the grain and agronomy sector, focusing on loading and unloading agricultural products, performing maintenance, and ensuring the quality of grain and other commodities. This position is vital for maintaining operations and delivering products to customers while promoting a safe and efficient work environment.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload grain, agronomy, and feed products.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Monitor and maintain grain quality, mix/load fertilizer, and chemical products.
• Deliver fertilizer, grain, feed, and fuel to customers.
• Carry out general labor responsibilities efficiently as directed.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of commodities and comply with regulations.
• Work courteously with customers.
• Prepare trucks for loading/unloading, including sampling and attaching hoses.
• Control and monitor load out functions and operate automated systems.
• Conduct maintenance tasks and inspect equipment for leaks.
• Maintain quality of inventory and deliver products to customer sites.
• Keep work areas clean and conduct regular housekeeping duties.
• Perform grounds maintenance and warehouse work, including forklift operation.
• Report customer complaints and safety concerns to the supervisor.
• Promote a strong safety culture and follow safety policies.

Requirements

• Knowledge of Operations and/or Business Operations.
• Must meet minimum age requirement.
• Ability to operate machinery such as loaders, conveyors, tractors, and track mobile.
• Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred.
• Agriculture experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.
