About the position

The Operations Startup Specialist at Nestlé Purina Pet Care is responsible for supporting capital projects and initiatives to achieve business, schedule, and budget objectives. This role focuses on the operational aspects of capital investments, including evaluating and implementing business processes, equipment, systems, and technology. The specialist will collaborate with various internal and external partners to ensure successful project execution and operational readiness.

Responsibilities

• Support E2E Project Manager with scope development, operational budget, risks, success criteria and key operational requirements and milestone identification
• Plan, prepare and coordinate operational pre-commissioning/commissioning, qualification, ramp up and startup activities
• Develop functional testing procedures and lead commissioning/qualification execution and reporting, including tracking of progress relative to recruiting, staffing and training
• Collaborate with project team and operations to ensure safety and line readiness (factory acceptance testing, machine risk assessments, site acceptance testing, etc.)
• Track progress of development and implementation of key standard routines, total productive maintenance (TPM) readiness and 5S
• Ensure factory associates are trained and competent to standard and facilitate successful startup and smooth transition to operations
• Drive the achievement of business objectives such as line performance, safety measures and product qualification
• Complete proactive and effective handover of the project to the operational team including proper documentation and resources

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, project management and/or commissioning in an industrial, military or related environment
• OR Associate's Degree with 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, project management and/or commissioning in an industrial, military or related environment
