About the position

As an Operations Supervisor on the 2nd shift, you will play a crucial role in overseeing a team of 20-40 employees working on multiple production lines in a pharmaceutical manufacturing and packaging environment. Your primary focus will be on putting people first, ensuring that your team is supported and empowered to reach their operational and professional goals. This Front-Line Obsession mindset will guide you in advocating for your team, providing high-quality support, and building strong relationships across the organization. You will be responsible for coaching and developing your team, fostering an inclusive environment that supports diversity, and enabling your employees to bring their authentic selves to work every day. In this role, you will assign tasks and adjust workloads to meet production goals, schedule and monitor training, and assess the progress of employees. You will also monitor production quality and utilize your leadership skills to solve problems effectively. Your responsibilities will include sharing specialized knowledge with management regarding the development and implementation of ongoing processes or special projects, recommending process changes to eliminate repetitive problems, and participating in capacity or budget planning. You will gather and evaluate information to make and present recommendations, test or evaluate materials or process changes, and supervise ongoing or special maintenance or installation projects. Additionally, you will work closely with engineering staff to select or evaluate new equipment for both capital projects and ancillary equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee 20-40 employees working on multiple production lines in a pharmaceutical manufacturing/packaging environment.
  • Assign tasks and adjust workloads to meet production goals.
  • Schedule and monitor training and assess the progress of employees.
  • Monitor production quality and utilize leadership skills to solve problems with employees.
  • Share specialized knowledge with management in the development and implementation of ongoing processes or special projects.
  • Recommend process changes to eliminate repetitive problems.
  • Participate in capacity or budget planning, gather and evaluate information, and make/present recommendations.
  • Test or evaluate materials or process changes and recommend their implementation or rejection.
  • Supervise ongoing or special maintenance or installation projects.
  • Work with engineering staff to select or evaluate new equipment for capital projects and ancillary equipment.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree is preferred; in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 4 years of supervision experience is required.
  • Demonstrated strong leadership skills, including well-developed communication, performance management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to provide work direction across multiple production areas.
  • Previous experience working in an FDA regulated industry is preferred.
  • Experience in production work systems, change management, and continuous improvement is preferred.
  • Sound judgment and good decision-making skills.
