About the position

The Operations Supervisor at Penske Logistics is responsible for providing operational leadership at a single location, overseeing a team of drivers and ensuring that customer requirements are met while achieving company goals. This role involves supervising logistics operations, managing performance, and driving process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce.
• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading and unloading, and dispatch.
• Establish and sustain training for all supervisors and associates.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and performance standards, providing coaching and counseling as needed.
• Conduct team meetings and evaluate changes in work methods to increase productivity.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures, tracking metrics such as MPG and damages.
• Manage day-to-day activities aligned with safety strategies and regulatory compliance.
• Plan work assignments for effective use of fleet equipment and ensure maintenance schedules are met.

Requirements

• Demonstrated leadership qualities with strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and independently with strong time management and organizational skills.
• Strong written and oral communication skills with active listening ability.
• Ability to manage through problems, think critically, and make independent decisions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Benefits

• Salary range of $65,000-$70,000 annually with bonus eligibility up to 12% of base salary.
