About the position

The Operations Supervisor (PM) at Sysco is responsible for overseeing the production operations department, ensuring that productivity, safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals are met. This role involves planning, scheduling, and directing the work efforts of production associates while adhering to company policies and procedures. The supervisor will also engage in employee performance management, safety training, and the implementation of lean principles.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and monitor daily activities and performance of production associates to ensure high productivity and quality.
• Manage employee performance through motivation, delegation, development, and conflict resolution.
• Conduct regular department meetings to communicate changes and address employee concerns.
• Participate in staff selection, performance evaluations, and corrective actions as necessary.
• Evaluate business demand and prioritize daily work assignments accordingly.
• Establish line assignments and staffing based on production priorities.
• Monitor inventory levels in material handling and production areas using a warehouse management system (WMS).
• Review and record all production documentation.
• Implement lean principles using 5S, Kaizen, and Kanban methods.
• Maintain a safe work environment by directing safety training and conducting routine safety inspections.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of manufacturing experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Ability to read and interpret business documents and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to analyze information.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
