About the position

The Operations Supervisor at Univar Solutions is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the branch, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies, and managing a team of employees. This role involves direct supervision of operations, budget management, and fostering a positive work environment to enhance employee engagement and performance.

Responsibilities

• Facilitating compliance with corporate health, safety, and environmental policies, including training and documentation.
• Supporting sales efforts in line with corporate and regulatory compliance standards.
• Leading the emergency response team within the branch.
• Supporting the branch health and safety program and conducting safety audits with the Branch Operations Manager.
• Conducting daily pre-shift meetings and communicating expectations to employees.
• Creating a positive work environment and promoting employee ownership of branch operations.
• Participating in inspections from outside agencies such as DOT, EPA, FDA, and DHS.
• Direct supervision of Material Handlers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 3 - 5 years of proven experience in operations.
• Knowledge of chemical distribution facility operations.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is beneficial.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
