About the position

The Operations Supervisor at TJ Maxx is responsible for overseeing the efficient, productive, and safe operation of a department within the Distribution Center. This role involves managing daily activities, ensuring high levels of quality and service, and maintaining a motivated workforce. The supervisor will spend a significant amount of time on the floor, directly engaging with associates to drive performance and morale while fostering a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities within the department, including planning, flow, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure that quality and service levels are maintained at a high standard.
  • Spend a minimum of 90% of the total shift on the floor reviewing orders and directing associates.
  • Develop and motivate associates to maintain high morale and company culture.
  • Build effective relationships with business partners, including management, HR, and transportation.
  • Communicate effectively with associates and management to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Review practices and processes for constant improvement and make recommendations.

Requirements

  • Previous experience managing diverse teams of 20+ associates.
  • 4-6 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • High School diploma required; College preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and development skills.
  • Proficient in math and PC skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate teams and manage conflict.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a distribution or logistics environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
