About the position

The Operations Supervisor at Wonderful Citrus is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Packing House operations, ensuring efficient processing and shipping of fresh citrus products. This role focuses on developing teams, solving operational issues, and achieving performance targets in a fast-paced agricultural manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Achieve, sustain, and continuously improve personnel safety, food safety, quality, line effectiveness, equipment optimization, personnel development, and financial results.
• Maximize departmental production efficiencies while maintaining high quality standards.
• Collaborate with upstream, downstream, and support departments to coordinate production activities.
• Make timely operational decisions based on various factors such as safety, time, staffing, and budget.
• Maintain an 80% floor presence and 20% administrative focus.
• Achieve production goals by maximizing Pack/Pre-Sort efficiency and reducing product holds and customer claims.
• Plan and manage day-to-day headcount and staffing requirements considering operational needs and labor costs.
• Generate accurate production reports and analyze production rates and statistics.
• Ensure adherence to operational procedures and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage maintenance, cleaning, and operation of manufacturing and packing equipment.
• Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities.
• Manage transitions between production shifts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Manufacturing, Business Management, or related field, or equivalent managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment.
• Conversational Spanish is required.
• Experience in a collaborative team environment with shared responsibilities.
• Proven ability to empower the workforce and build strong teams through development and training.
• Fluent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Basic arithmetic and algebraic skills; knowledge of statistical analysis methods is desired.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment/process problems and implement solutions.
• Experience with Oracle and Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Operational knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.

Nice-to-haves
