About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team as an Operations Support Coordinator. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting the operations team in managing the day-to-day activities at our manufacturing plants. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the industrial manufacturing industry, with the added benefit of traveling to different McIntosh plant locations. The Operations Support Coordinator must be flexible to travel to various McIntosh plants and fulfill diverse operational needs. This role involves assisting with day-to-day operations, coordinating logistics, and managing plant resources efficiently. The individual should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude. We are looking for an individual who has an interest in learning and assisting with the planning and preparation efforts for opening new plants within the next 2-3 years. This includes resource mobilization and allocation, overseeing logistical aspects and strategies, lumber assembly, and production oversight. There are opportunities for professional development and growth, including the potential to transition into an operations project manager role or a leadership role running a plant. Responsibilities

  • Assist with coordinating production schedules and workflow at our pallet, crate, and specialty wood packaging plants.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with inventory management to ensure timely production and delivery.
  • Support the implementation of operational processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with plant managers and supervisors to address operational challenges and improve performance.
  • Conduct quality control checks and inspections to uphold product standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Travel to various plants to provide on-site assistance and support as needed.
  • Monitor key performance indicators to assess plants' operational efficiency and productivity.
  • Partner with plant management to identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Support plant leadership direction to ensure team members are motivated and aligned with plant objectives.
  • Perform additional duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Technical, associate or bachelor's degree in business, operations management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel to different plant locations as needed.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing setting is beneficial but not required.
