About the position

Guide all design, engineering, and technical matters relative to support to existing field operations, Assets design and system engineering for new use cases in support of the Business Development team. Strong technical, project and change management skills. Established technical experience with proven success linking innovative thinking with on-time execution.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the power generation equipment health and performance in the field.
  • Monitor and track the performance of operational systems.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure proper functionality and identify potential issues.
  • Conduct Field team to perform SOP maintenance tasks (i.e. Insulation resistance, cleaning), and replace parts as needed.
  • Support field team remotely - Ensure safety protocols are being followed during daily operations.
  • Communicate with team Technical SME's and Field Technicians and support with resolution of technical/ troubleshooting issues to ensure reliable operation.
  • Review customer specifications and provide proper selection for application engineering selection for industrial engines power generation, transmissions interfaces, PLC controls, embedded controls, and lithium-ion batteries electronics.
  • Perform appropriate microgrid sizing design, layouts and grounding systems to meet standard requirements.
  • Architect the appropriate set-up of equipment and power protection/ distribution systems.
  • Complete Arc flash study, breaker coordination study, FMEA, hazard assessments, and ground grid studies for every new job location.
  • Analyzing and mitigating power quality issues, such as voltage sags, harmonics, and flicker, to ensure reliable service.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new systems and troubleshoot / resolve system malfunctions or inefficiencies during start-up.
  • Document Non-Conformance Reports and equipment issues - containment action, root cause analysis and final resolution.
  • Promoting continuous improvement of equipment by proactively enhancing performance, efficiency, and reliability.
  • Update technical manuals and documentation to reflect changes or improvements in procedures or equipment.
  • Document and communicate results of technical data generated and present technical data and proposals to internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical) preferred; will consider equivalent work experience in lieu of education.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working with electrical schematics.
  • In-depth understanding of Gas/Diesel Generators, including CAT G3520, G3512, APS 1000, XQ1475, is strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical equipment within the power system network, including generators, drivers, switchgear panels, control panels, instrumentation, and both low and high-voltage equipment.
  • Setting up and configuring protection systems for both medium voltage and low voltage applications across all brands.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% in the U.S.
  • 3D CAD modelling and drafting experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAN communication preferred.

  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred.
