About the position

The Operations Support (Human Services Specialist 1) position at the Oregon Department of Human Services involves providing essential support to Oregonians in a welcoming office environment. This role focuses on assisting individuals with various programs, ensuring accurate information processing, and delivering exceptional customer service while working closely with families in need.

Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for Oregonians in the field office, providing a welcoming environment.
  • Support the day-to-day operations of the office.
  • Assist Oregonians with the online Oregon Eligibility system for various programs via phone or email.
  • Provide trauma-informed support to clients.
  • Handle financial desk responsibilities as needed.
  • Support branch staff in their work with families using the case aid model.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience in interviewing or substantial people contact involving high volume paperwork.
  • Experience working at a front or reception desk.
  • Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical information in a non-technical way to diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience entering and verifying detailed data with high accuracy.
  • Experience handling confidential or sensitive information.
