About the position

The Operations Support III position is a critical role within the warehouse operations at Abbott Park, IL, focusing on material coordination and inventory management. This full-time position requires the individual to be onsite and is expected to work 40 hours per week, with the possibility of overtime paid at time and a half for hours exceeding 40. The role is contracted from July 22, 2024, to June 22, 2025, with a potential for extension based on operational needs. In this role, the Operations Support III will be responsible for receiving, issuing, shipping, and maintaining inventory for both inbound and outbound shipments. This includes maintaining accurate records of all goods shipped and received, preparing shipments, and sorting and delivering received goods. The individual will perform these tasks in compliance with all company and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring that all operations align with regulatory requirements such as FDA and ISO9000 standards. The position also involves minimizing supply chain scrap and processing material destruction orders (MDO). The Operations Support III will assist in stock sweeps and may perform physical cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy. Proficiency in using the material management system is essential, as is the preparation, completion, and maintenance of appropriate documentation related to inventory management. Safety is a priority, and the individual will be required to handle dangerous goods safely and appropriately, adhering to all Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) rules and procedures. Reporting any EHS incidents and unsafe conditions promptly to supervision is also a key responsibility. Additionally, the Operations Support III will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the Quality System, attending all required training programs, and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. The role demands a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improving the EHS program and ensuring compliance with all operational standards.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of material handling, inventory, and/or material coordination experience.
  • Ability to perform frequent activities such as standing, bending, walking, and stretching.
  • Ability to lift and carry items of various dimensions, including up to 40 pounds at a time.
  • Forklift experience and certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with computers and other electronic office and business equipment.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks in compliance with departmental SOPs guided by FDA, ISO9000, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to understand product structures, processing requirements, and basic accounting.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and display appropriate behavior under pressure.
  • Attention to detail.
