The Operations Support Specialist is a vital role within Lamb Weston, primarily responsible for addressing and resolving employee issues that arise through various communication channels, including phone, web, and email. In addition to resolving employee issues, the Operations Support Specialist will assist with various HR functions. This includes reviewing and preparing employee schedules, managing call-ins, and answering inquiries via phone, email, and radio. The specialist will also be responsible for issuing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), updating attendance programs, processing vacation requests, and assisting employees with the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and Oregon Family Leave Act (OFLA) processes. The role demands a championing of Lamb Weston policies, ensuring that all actions align with the company's values and standards. The position requires a high degree of customer service orientation, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to troubleshoot computer hardware and software issues. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as the role may involve working in a high-volume call environment. The incumbent must possess a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, organized, and punctual, with a commitment to accuracy in all tasks. On-the-job training will be provided, ensuring that the specialist is well-equipped to handle the responsibilities of the role effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Resolve employee issues and problems presented through various channels including phone, web, and email.
  • Assist with reviewing and preparing employee schedules and replacing call-ins.
  • Answer phones, emails, and radio communications.
  • Issue Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to employees.
  • Answer employee questions and provide necessary information.
  • Update attendance program and route disciplinary forms as needed.
  • Review timekeeping system regarding hours worked by employees.
  • Process vacation requests, PTO, and leaves of absence.
  • Assist employees with initiating the FMLA/OFLA process.
  • Enforce Lamb Weston policies as a champion of the organization.

Requirements

  • General office experience is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Strong work ethic and a reliable employment history are highly desired.
  • Self-motivated, organized, punctual, and accurate in work.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be a team player.
  • High degree of customer service orientation is a must.
