About the position

The Operations Support Specialist at Black Hills Energy plays a crucial role in supporting the utility operations team by managing scheduling, customer information entry, documentation of work, and providing overall support to the team. This position is essential for ensuring efficient operations and enhancing customer service within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule daily work for service and operational employees and/or crews through scheduling tools.
  • Submit requests to various agencies for facility locating.
  • Support meter issue investigations, processing meter changes and equipment orders.
  • Assist with expense reporting, processing invoices, and submitting invoices for 3rd party damage.
  • Assist in tracking contract deposits and refunds for customer construction.
  • Assist with scanning, filing, and maintaining operations-related materials and data entry into electronic systems.
  • Assist with arranging meetings, updating schedules for emergency plans, and ordering office supplies.
  • Provide support to the Supervisor for building maintenance.
  • Exercise appropriate level of independent judgment on Company proprietary and confidential matters.
  • Work with customers daily to help resolve their service issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of customer service, utility industry, and/or scheduling experience.

  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multi-task environment as a collaborative team member.
  • Independent, well-organized, self-starter and able to adapt to change.
