About the position

The Operations Support role at Maersk Warehousing and Distribution USA LLC is focused on managing freight forwarding shipments across various transportation modes, ensuring high operational excellence and quality customer service. This position involves tracking shipments, communicating with customers and other stations, and maintaining key performance indicators (KPIs) for the station. The role requires multitasking in a high-volume environment while providing support for logistics and freight opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Tracking and tracing outbound shipments
• Inspecting outbound freight
• Contracting new carriers as needed and assigning carriers and providing load tenders
• Communicating freight status and any problems to other stations and customers, and updating the system
• Providing customer service
• Running reports
• Data entry of shipments into transportation management system
• Quoting, costing and invoicing of international shipments, air, ocean and ground
• Domestic air and ground routing (including Canada)
• Negotiating Freight Rates
• Developing collaborative carrier relationships
• Finding and developing new logistics/freight opportunities and designing carrier solutions for other Pilot offices and external customers

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to type 35+ words per minute
• Ability to work in a demanding, high-volume environment, particularly with email and calls
• Proficient in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Tech-savvy
• Multi-tasking while maintaining precise attention to detail
