About the position

As an Operations Systems Analyst at Crane Worldwide Logistics, you will serve as the primary technical support for site database operations, particularly focusing on Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Your role will be crucial in ensuring the integrity of operational systems, which includes overseeing setup and control processes. You will interface with Operations staff to review operating procedures and maximize system efficiencies, providing regular communication to site Operations and internal departments regarding operational issues, process flows, customer requirements, and account-specific issues. This will involve conducting thorough analyses, providing insights, and making recommendations to enhance operational performance. In addition to your analytical responsibilities, you will coordinate with the Information Technology department to resolve any site technical issues, ensuring that problems are identified, addressed, and resolved promptly. You will also act as a functional user, defining site requirements for the layout and design of databases. Your role will involve investigating and recommending new technologies and information systems that are appropriate for the site, and you may work with system providers to obtain cost estimates for system enhancements. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing spreadsheets, databases, and other analytical tools to monitor operational activities such as storage capacities, inventory management, freight flow, and transportation solutions. Identifying areas for service level improvements, cost reductions, and operational enhancements will be key aspects of your job. You will also develop standardized and ad hoc reporting for site management and customers, analyze discrepancies, and implement procedures to minimize them. Conducting feasibility analyses on processes and equipment, calculating cost/benefit ratios, and proposing solutions will be part of your duties. Training associates on the use of the warehouse management system and serving as the site expert on WMS logic and functionality will be essential. You will also train site staff on the use of various systems and tools to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and improve productivity. Monitoring system performance, performing maintenance, and conducting backups as needed will round out your responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary technical support for site database operations, including Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience required.
  • Minimum 1 year industry experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical ability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable of warehouse operations and freight/logistics optimization.
  • Excellent planning, time management, collaboration, decision making, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and document processes and procedures.
  • Proficient in the use of analytical techniques such as statistical probability distribution, correlation, data sampling, and relating sets of numbers.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and manage through conflict with professionalism.
