About the position

DecisionPoint is seeking a skilled Information Technology Project Manager to join the Operations Team, providing comprehensive project management support for various operations and engineering projects related to IT services for legacy applications within the ISD portfolio. This long-term engagement will support the USCG Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) located in Elizabeth City, NC. The position is primarily on-site, with off-site capabilities, and will also require availability for on-call duty to support system upgrades, maintenance, and failures after hours. As the IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, initiating, and managing IT projects. You will lead and guide the work of technical staff while serving as a liaison between the business and technical aspects of projects. Your role will involve planning project stages and assessing the business implications for each stage, monitoring progress to ensure that deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met. You will consult with clients to ensure conformity to project and contractual obligations, particularly for IT projects and initiatives. Familiarity with all phases of the systems development life cycle is essential, including identification, design, development, implementation, and maintenance of automated systems. In addition to project management, you will assist in the analysis, design, and development of new systems and system enhancements. You will approve documentation standards, system specifications, feasibility and justification reports, and policy recommendations. Your responsibilities will also include developing and installing techniques and procedures to implement policy decisions regarding organizational structures, program evaluation, and productivity improvements. You will establish and maintain technical and financial reports to show project progress to management and customers, organize and assign responsibilities to subordinates, and oversee the successful completion of all assigned IT tasks. Ensuring the development, maintenance, and implementation of Program Management Plans and Technical Specifications Plans will be crucial to guide the performance of all functional and technical activities performed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in related field or at minimum Information Technology (IT) Certification (ex. PMP).
  • 6 years of experience providing technical direction and Project Management.
  • 3 years supervisory experience in addition to the six years of experience listed above.

Nice-to-haves

  • Sufficient technical expertise to be considered a subject matter expert (SME) on managing an enterprise IT system.
  • Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing laptops, desktop computers and peripherals, COTS applications.
  • Experience in Connectivity and Network service requirements including architecture and engineering development and design, cable and fiber installation, testing, troubleshooting and management.
  • Experience in full wide-area, metropolitan area, campus area, local area, and data center network administration.
  • Familiar with current Department of Defense (DoD), DHS, and USCG and ISD policies, standards, and security directives and guidelines.
