About the position

The Asset Transfer Services (ATS) Department at Charles Schwab is dedicated to managing the balance of incoming and outgoing transfer requests for clients. The department aims to set the standard in the industry by providing an exceptional transfer experience for clients, internal business partners, and brokerage firms. As the Operations Team Manager in ATS, you will oversee a diverse team of 8-15 individuals who are responsible for assisting clients with their transfer requests. This role requires a self-driven and proven leader who can inspire and motivate team members at various stages of their careers. You will guide the team through transformative initiatives that align with both business and firm objectives, ensuring that each team member is held accountable through effective coaching and feedback. In this position, you will be responsible for providing supervision and oversight to your team, applying sound business judgment in handling complex and sensitive situations. You will also be tasked with managing the day-to-day operations of the team, focusing on delivering business results while maintaining a strong emphasis on risk management. Cultivating strong employee engagement within the team and the department is crucial, as is the ability to establish and maintain trusted working relationships with clients, business partners, senior leadership, and contra firms. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a diverse team of 8-15 individuals in the Asset Transfer Services department.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the team, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in handling transfer requests.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members to foster professional development and accountability.
  • Implement innovative solutions to drive efficiency, scalability, and operational excellence within the team.
  • Cultivate strong employee engagement and maintain a positive team culture.
  • Establish and maintain trusted relationships with clients, business partners, and senior leadership.
  • Manage complex and sensitive situations with sound business judgment.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in the financial services, banking, or operations industry.
  • 1-2 years of leadership experience.
  • Active and valid Series 7 & 63 licenses are required.
  • Active Series 9/10 or 24 licenses are required.
  • Experience working with multiple systems in a dual monitor environment.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing solutions.
  • Experience in managing day-to-day business activities and delivering on business results while focusing on risk management.
  • Proven ability to foster strong employee engagement.
