About the position

Reed Minerals is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as a Maintenance Technician. This role is crucial for maintaining and repairing all plant mechanical and mobile equipment, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently. The technician will be responsible for notifying management of needed supplies and assisting production personnel as required. The position involves following established maintenance guidelines and completing necessary paperwork related to equipment maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, maintain and repair all plant equipment (including mobile equipment) in an efficient operating status.
• Notify Management of any problems or potential problems with equipment, the need for part and supplies.
• Research necessary parts and supply options for plant management.
• Communicate with the Production Personnel related to equipment performance.
• Complete and maintain all related paperwork as directed by management daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.
• Assist in any production related duties when necessary, as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent; Technical school or craft/tradesman experience preferred.
• Ability to pass company physical and drug/alcohol screening.
• Prior experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Proficient in welding and cutting steel, including fabricating replacement parts and hard surfacing front end loader buckets.
• Experience in minor electrical troubleshooting and repair, including wiring of motors and understanding of PLCs preferred.
• Experience with conveyor belts and elevators, including changing, tracking, and splicing belts, and replacing drive parts.
• Experience with fuel burners for dryers, including troubleshooting and repair.
• General troubleshooting and servicing of mobile equipment, including oil changes and minor repairs.
