About the position

The Operations Technician is responsible for the effective operation, minor repair, and changeovers of production equipment in a night shift role at Colgate-Palmolive. This position focuses on achieving factory business objectives related to safety, productivity, customer service, quality, cost, and environmental protection. The role involves daily production, quality and sanitization procedures, equipment maintenance, data collection, and continuous improvement as part of a collaborative work team.

Responsibilities

  • Operates, monitors, and performs changeovers and minor maintenance of automated equipment in the manufacturing of Colgate-Palmolive products.
  • Confirms in-house availability of raw and packing materials for current and next runs, coordinating with upstream and downstream processes.
  • Unloads materials and supplies from delivery vehicles and delivers them to storage, processing, and finishing areas as needed.
  • Performs quality sampling and statistical process control activities throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Troubleshoots, performs minor repairs, and other maintenance on production equipment, supported by maintenance personnel as needed.
  • Prepares and loads finished product for shipping using SAP and collaborates with local warehouse employees.
  • Conducts housekeeping activities and participates in area housekeeping assessments as required.
  • Undertakes daily reporting and updates of information systems (SAP, Shop Floor Reporting, Cycle Counts).
  • Completes all regulatory and compliance-related documentation and procedures accurately.
  • Participates in regular reviews of team production performance and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Applies Continuous Improvement tools and techniques to achieve team goals.
  • Understands and adheres to Environmental, Occupational, Health and Safety requirements.
  • Understands the needs of both internal and external customers and shares knowledge with the work team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of manufacturing, military, or relevant production operations experience.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends.
  • Ability to adhere to all safety and EOHS standards and utilize personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to perform regular housekeeping and maintain general cleanliness in the work area.
  • Ability to move bags of raw materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Vocational or Technical Degree.
  • Experience in an FDA regulated environment, utilizing safety checklists, and performing quality checks or audits in manufacturing processes.
  • Experience using the production, planning, or other module in SAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
