About the position

The Operations Technician role is essential for supporting and operating the Sybil/Warby Trial system during scheduled trials. The technician will also perform various operator roles when not engaged in trials, contributing to the overall efficiency and safety of operations within the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Support and operate the Sybil/Warby Trial system during scheduled trials.
  • Perform various operator roles as needed on the assigned team/shift.
  • Initiate startup, shutdown, teardown, CIP/COP, and operation of all equipment in the assigned work area.
  • Conduct basic lubrication, inspection adjustments, repairs, cleaning, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Master sanitation of operating areas, equipment, and coolers as assigned.
  • Contribute to a continuous improvement environment through LEAN Manufacturing activities.
  • Participate in the 5S program to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Deliver training to associates in the assigned work area to meet production schedule staffing demands.
  • Assist in coordinating employee training for operators to ensure effective and safe job performance.
  • Support various areas of operations including AM, CM, Whey, Sybil, and Shipping.
  • Assist in developing standardized work and ensure its utilization and updates.
  • Help production personnel achieve established key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Assist with the implementation of new processes, equipment, and improved line layouts.
  • Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all department paperwork.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP guidelines, and LQMS requirements.
  • Lead by example to ensure employee safety, food safety, and quality assurance.
  • Complete a minimum of one behavioral observation Safety Walk per month to contribute to a safety culture.
  • Work with QA associates to address identified process or customer issues.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of machine operations and the overall production process.
  • Troubleshoot and identify root causes of problems in an operator/machine interface work environment.
  • Assist in implementing and controlling product and process changes from R&D, Sales, Marketing, and others.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot various equipment in the production process.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP guidelines.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong communication skills for training and collaboration with team members.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with 5S methodology.
  • Previous experience in a food production or processing environment.
