About the position

The Operations Technician role at Land O'Lakes, Inc. involves supporting and operating the Warby Trial system during scheduled trials, as well as performing various operational tasks when not engaged in trials. The position requires collaboration with the Shift Lead and Production Manager to ensure efficient daily operations, training associates, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The technician will also be responsible for equipment operation, sanitation, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support and operate the Warby Trial system during scheduled trials.
  • Assist the Shift Lead and Production Manager in daily operations of the designated team/shift.
  • Train associates and learn advanced operating functions.
  • Perform special assignments to support product or equipment trials, customer requests, and process improvement activities.
  • Ensure the master sanitation schedule is met and conduct operational preventative maintenance.
  • Cover shift-based staffing needs to meet production demands.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and meet established quality standards.
  • Initiate startup, shutdown, teardown, CIP/COP, and operation of all equipment in the assigned work area.
  • Contribute to a continuous improvement environment by participating in LEAN Manufacturing activities.
  • Participate in the 5S program to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Assist in performing and coordinating employee training for operators.
  • Assist production personnel in achieving established key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all department paperwork.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP guidelines, and LQMS requirements.
  • Actively contribute to a behavioral-based safety culture by completing safety observations.
  • Work in partnership with QA associates to address process or customer issues.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and write effectively in English.
  • Ability to contribute in a teamwork environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math equations.
  • Ability to utilize computers and software programs proficiently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively to ensure product flow to the next workstation.
  • Ability to perform problem-solving skills and make effective decisions.
  • Ability to effectively plan and organize tasks.
  • Ability to contribute to a safe and organized work environment.
  • Ability to work variable shifts, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position as outlined in the Physical Demands Analysis (PDA).
  • Ability to learn new skills and adapt to change.
