About the position

As an Operations & Technology Transformation Specialist Master focusing on Guidewire Data Migration and ETL Development at Deloitte, you will play a pivotal role in delivering innovative technology solutions to our clients in the insurance sector. Our Operations and Technology Transformation (OTT) team is dedicated to providing market-leading expertise and industry depth by leveraging deep sector knowledge and hybrid services. We aim to unlock the power of Process Bionics to deliver sustainable and impactful solutions that address the core business challenges faced by our clients. You will be responsible for advising, designing, implementing, and deploying technology-enabled solutions that focus on critical business issues across various sectors, including Health Care & Life Sciences, Digital Banking & Payments, Investment & Wealth Management, Insurance, Telecom, Media, and Energy & Resources. In this role, you will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) interfacing between clients and Deloitte teams, helping to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. You will leverage your considerable technical expertise to define systems strategy, develop system requirements, design and prototype solutions, conduct testing, and define support procedures for implementation. Your responsibilities will include developing and reviewing system requirements, designing solutions, redefining business processes, presenting prototypes, and leading the testing of custom technology solutions tailored to the needs of large insurance carriers and companies. You will also be expected to maintain hands-on technical expertise in specific technologies, advising clients and team members on best practices and innovative solutions. Your role will involve managing and delivering components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions, ensuring that our clients remain competitive in a rapidly evolving insurance landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Interface between clients and Deloitte teams as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific technologies or solutions.
  • Define systems strategy, develop system requirements, design and prototype solutions, conduct testing, and define support procedures for implementation.
  • Develop and review system requirements and design solutions to meet clients' business needs.
  • Lead the testing of custom technology solutions and present prototypes to clients.
  • Manage and deliver components of client engagements that identify, design, and implement technology and creative business solutions for large insurance carriers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum 7 years of consulting or relevant insurance experience within Property & Casualty, including Personal Lines, Commercial Lines, and Specialty Insurance.
  • 6 years of experience in Property & Casualty Insurance Solutions with Guidewire, Duck Creek, Majesco, Origami, or similar packages.
  • 6 years of experience working in sub-service areas such as Insurance Products, Underwriting, Claims, Billing & Payments, Policy Administration, or Distribution.
  • Minimum 4 full life cycle implementations of Large-Scale System Delivery Experience, preferably for Policy Administration, Billing Systems, and/or Claims Systems.
  • 6 years of hands-on ETL experience with Informatica and/or Microsoft SSIS.
  • 6 years of experience with Data Mapping and SQL.
  • 3 years of experience estimating and planning Large Scale System Implementations.
  • 4 years of experience managing at least one large Business Integration effort and project team through all phases of the project lifecycle.

Nice-to-haves

  • Advanced degree in a technical specialization.
  • CPCU, AIC, ARM Certification.
  • Guidewire Integration or Configuration certification.
  • 4 years of experience with Guidewire Cloud Claims migration.
  • Experience delivering via an Agile/Scrum methodology.
  • Strong background in Java, Gosu (Guidewire), EJB, BPEL, and UNIX.
  • Experience with Business Process Modeling (BPM) tools and business rules integration.
  • Familiarity with technologies like BEA, Sonic, IBM, Oracle, Apache ServiceMix, FuseESB, Camel, Mule, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of standards and specifications (e.g., XML, UDDI, JMS, Web services).
  • Experience with Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
