About the position

The Operations Training Specialist at MedImpact Healthcare Systems plays a crucial role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of the department's management and staff through effective training programs. This position is responsible for analyzing training needs, developing tailored training programs, and delivering these programs through various formats such as classroom sessions, one-on-one coaching, and online demonstrations. The specialist will monitor student progress, provide feedback, and ensure that training materials are up-to-date and relevant to the current business needs. The role also involves collaborating with the instructional design team to create effective training materials and assessments that measure the success of the training provided. The Operations Training Specialist is expected to maintain a structured and professional training environment, facilitate the transition of trainees into their work roles, and provide ongoing support and feedback to management regarding training effectiveness and areas for improvement. This position requires a strong understanding of adult learning principles and the ability to adapt training methods to meet the diverse needs of learners. Additionally, the specialist will be involved in self-development activities to stay current with industry trends and best practices in training and development.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze training needs and develop training programs including skill development exercises and instructional materials.
  • Deliver new hire and continuing education training to Configuration Services staff.
  • Utilize various presentation formats for training delivery, including classroom, one-on-one, and demonstrations.
  • Monitor student progress and provide coaching and developmental feedback throughout the training process.
  • Complete daily tracking, including end-of-course evaluations and trainee assessments.
  • Create a positive impression of MedImpact and maintain a structured class environment according to established policies.
  • Facilitate the transition of students from training to the work environment, ensuring competency levels are sufficient.
  • Maintain and verify that review exercises are relevant and create assessments to measure training success.
  • Provide feedback to management regarding process improvements and content gaps in training materials.
  • Collaborate in the development and delivery of training programs, participating in training development activities.
  • Revise and rewrite training materials to reflect enhancements in internal processes and establish learning objectives.
  • Research service information for each client by attending team meetings and conducting observations for training purposes.
  • Encourage participation and open communication by providing regular reports of training plans and progress to department leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • Two or more years' experience as a trainer or one year in a PBM or healthcare environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design basics.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Word Processing software.
  • Ability to understand system functionality and analyze legacy systems for training purposes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Technical Trainer (CTT+) certification preferred.
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience in curriculum design in technical and operational areas.
