About the position

The Operations/Transportation Manager at Action Resources is responsible for overseeing the terminal's operations, focusing on profitability, growth, and safety. This role involves coordinating daily activities, managing relationships with drivers and customers, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The manager will drive business results through effective leadership, continuous improvement, and a strong focus on team development and culture.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage day-to-day operations to drive profitability and growth.
• Engage with customers, team members, and peers to drive business results.
• Focus on key areas of Operations: Safety, Service, Revenue, Assets, and Costs.
• Implement and support all company continuous improvement and safety efforts.
• Serve as the liaison for company drivers, owner operators, and terminal associates.
• Interact with both internal and external customers in a cooperative and professional manner.
• Be an effective change leader regarding processes, structure, and business modeling.
• Advocate for drivers, involved in retaining, recruiting, and hiring of drivers.
• Coordinate daily terminal activities supporting terminal-specific operating objectives.
• Handle escalation and time-critical issues, performing transactions in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with the sales team to manage existing and target new business opportunities.
• Develop and mentor staff through performance evaluation and effective coaching.
• Promote and develop safe work behaviors through effective communication and implementation of safety programs.
• Identify process breakdowns and develop improvement plans with partners to resolve them.
• Monitor equipment for proper efficiency levels.
• Provide feedback for continuous improvement of all EHSS policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Experience in supply chain management.
• Proven leadership skills in operations management.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure.
• Experience with P&Ls and financial management.

Nice-to-haves

• Tanker experience.
• Experience in driver retention and development.
