About the position

The Operative Buyer at Mitsubishi Chemical America is responsible for managing purchasing-to-pay activities, ensuring effective procurement of goods and services across North America. Responsibilities

  • Perform purchasing-to-pay activities including master data management and PR-PO approvals.
  • Provide professional procurement services to ensure effective purchasing of goods and services.
  • Support the achievement of qualitative and quantitative procurement targets in North America.
  • Define operative buying targets based on regional operations and experience.
  • Ensure effective ordering of goods and materials according to business specifications.
  • Maintain transparency and integrity of external vendors and agreements.
  • Collaborate effectively within the Regional Hub team and with category teams.
  • Ensure compliance with procure-to-pay processes and propose innovative enhancements.
  • Oversee risks affecting business continuity and purchasing operations.
  • Support critical activities in ESG, KAITEKI, and HSE areas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree highly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in purchasing.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in purchasing in an international environment.
  • Proficient in PR-PO processing and master data management practices.
  • Proficient in MS Office, spend analytics tools, e-sourcing platforms, and project management.
  • Experience with purchase-to-pay activities and familiarity with ERPs like SAP.
  • Advanced knowledge in ERP modules for procurement.
  • Strong decision-making skills in a dynamic environment.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with international procurement teams.
  • Ownership-oriented approach in a professional environment.
  • Business fluent in English.
  • High ethical standards.
