About the position

The Operator position at Frontier Coop involves performing various tasks in the production of the company's products. Responsibilities

  • Perform all tasks involved in the production of Frontier's products.
  • Follow standard processes and practices safe work habits to ensure efficient and safe production.
  • Box, fill, label, and clean as part of general tasks in the production area.
  • Communicate respectfully and honestly with team members.
  • Operate equipment on production lines for at least 50% of hours worked.
  • Make equipment adjustments to ensure quality finished products.
  • Perform major production line changeovers independently.
  • Handle powerful rare earth magnets safely.
  • Complete special packaging projects as scheduled.
  • Maintain equipment according to SOPs and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Train others in performing the job effectively.
  • Collaborate with production planning to determine efficient production schedules.
  • Case and palletize finished products for inventory.
  • Operate material handling, packaging, and processing equipment.
  • Sample products for quality control checks and visually inspect materials for defects.
  • Complete necessary documentation for each product, including computerized tracking systems.
  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble machinery as needed.
  • Use and maintain familiarity with assembly, packaging, and measuring tools.
  • Work with other departments to resolve problems as they arise.
  • Monitor Statistical Process Controls and report quality-related issues to Quality Assurance.
  • Ensure food safety and quality by monitoring critical control points and reporting non-conformances.
  • Propose suggestions for continual improvement and follow safety, sanitation, and production procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend moderately detailed instructions and safety rules.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and speak effectively in small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to train others in general manufacturing processes.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work within a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in manufacturing or production environments.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes.
