About the position
The Packaging Senior Operator at Mars, Incorporated is responsible for managing the flow of finished products through the packaging and warehouse areas, ensuring high-quality output according to schedule. This role requires effective communication and integration of activities across various departments, as well as performing maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. The operator also trains new associates and aims to optimize operations while maintaining product quality and minimizing costs.
Responsibilities
- Operate all systems components and perform quality checks.
- Maintain conformance reports, systems logs, and other necessary data.
- Troubleshoot all aspects of each system and maintain a clean work area.
- Train new packaging operators in line operation and equipment repair.
- Participate in setting strategies for the packaging system to meet production schedules.
- Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training modules.
- Communicate and escalate quality and food safety concerns to management.
- Coordinate activities to minimize waste and ensure continuous operations.
- Recognize trends and take corrective actions to ensure product quality.
- Lead or participate in groups to improve performance or resolve issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or equivalent education and experience.
- Basic knowledge of personal computers and software including MS Office.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
