About the position

The Tablet Coating Operator is responsible for the operation and set-up of compression machines in accordance with company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and cGMP regulations. This role ensures that products meet applicable quality standards through set-up, operation, cleaning, and light mechanical adjustments. The operator is accountable for overall process performance, including safety, quality, and efficiency, and must be capable of operating multiple machines simultaneously while learning to operate various equipment within the manufacturing area.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture production batches according to Batch Records, SOP's, and cGMP guidelines to ensure product specifications and tolerances are met.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, GMP's, Ethical Business Practice, and SOP's at all times.
  • Complete and sign documentation such as operation logs and batch records in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Inspect product quality during operation and perform all required sampling and testing.
  • Check spray nozzles, piping, air pressure, and boiler before starting the batch.
  • Observe machine gauges and equipment calibration status, reporting any deviations to the production supervisor.
  • Run equipment such as Accela Coater and prepare coating medium/solution.
  • Assist in the revision and creation of department SOP's.
  • Utilize problem-solving skills to investigate and troubleshoot product issues and recommend solutions.
  • Perform proper data entry in all batch records and logbooks during the coating process.
  • Handle materials related to the products being coated and verify weights of tablets received from compression.
  • Assist in the investigation of batch record deviations and document all steps correctly.
  • Maintain proper gowning and hygiene to ensure product integrity as per cGMP's and company policies.
  • Clean equipment and processing room and dispose of rejected tablets and powder as per compliance requirements.
  • Meet all safety expectations and follow all safety practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Under 1 year of experience for Level 1, 2-3 years for Level 2, and 4+ years for Level 3.
  • Ability to operate multiple machines and coat various products depending on experience level.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, OSHA standards, and basic math calculations.
  • Mechanically inclined to understand the inner workings of the equipment.
  • Ability to read and write basic English to understand industry-regulated instruction sheets.
  • Attention to detail.
