About the position

As a Directional Drill Bore Operator at CableCom, you will be responsible for operating various equipment used in underground construction and utility maintenance. This role emphasizes safety and efficiency while performing installation, repair, and maintenance tasks. You will also be involved in site preparation, safety analysis, and ensuring a clean work environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate drill equipment on jobsite, including Directional Drill and Vacuum Truck/Trailer.
• Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite.
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule.
• Be responsible for the site set-up and clean-up.
• Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment on truck.
• Participate in new site Job Safety Analysis (JSA) prior to starting construction.
• Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers, and at times flagging traffic.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and maintain a valid medical card.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) record.
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed.
• Ability to work overtime, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies or on-call.
• Experience with drilling equipment and understanding their capabilities and limitations.
• Ability to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities.
• Experience with drill set up and design processes preferred.
• Ability to read and understand work orders, safety rules, and operating instructions.
• Ability to climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objects.
