About the position

The Process Operator at Ketjen Corporation plays a crucial role in the operation of chemical process units, ensuring the production of quality products in a safe and timely manner. This position involves monitoring and controlling various equipment and instrumentation, contributing to the efficiency and safety of chemical manufacturing processes. The operator will work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with team members to uphold safety standards and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control equipment and instrumentation for batch or continuous operation of chemical process units.
  • Read and interpret training manuals, unit operating procedures, safety bulletins, and government compliance regulations.
  • Monitor and operate process instruments such as transmitters, receivers, controllers, and DCS controls.
  • Operate rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, and filters.
  • Operate stationary equipment such as gas-fired furnaces, process reactors, distillation columns, and storage tanks.
  • Perform basic math calculations for flow rates, tank levels, and temperature and pressure differentials.
  • Maintain a written log of shift activities using company-adopted computer programs.
  • Sample products for quality control, including hazardous materials.
  • Load and unload tank trailers and perform maintenance procedures as required.
  • Attend safety meetings and training sessions as necessary.
  • Identify and handle hazardous waste according to company procedures.

Requirements

  • Must have a Process Technology degree or 2 years of experience in a chemical manufacturing role/environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential.
  • Proficient computer skills, including spreadsheet use.
  • High level of attention to detail, procedures, and documentation.
