About the position

The Operator I position at Glanbia Nutritionals is responsible for the setup and operation of machinery in a manufacturing environment. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality product output, maintaining machine efficiency, and adhering to established productivity and quality standards under the direction of a supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Understand and demonstrate how to read and execute batch sheet and instructions, sampling and labels.
  • Understand basic fluid bed principles and pass test.
  • Demonstrate basic documentation of batch sheet, wash down paperwork, logbooks.
  • Be able to read and check warehouse entries.
  • Consume and post batch in plant.
  • Successfully load solution kettles and fluid bed bowls following instructions on the batch sheet.
  • Make one solution for processes: hot melt, agglomeration, trituration, with willingness to learn additional processes.
  • Demonstrate and independently run at least one FB process: hot melt, agglomeration, trituration with all necessary documentation and sampling.
  • Demonstrate setup, operation, calibration of spray rate and breakdown of solution pumps, in-line filters, and hoses.
  • Demonstrate setup, operation, breakdown, brush down, wash down of necessary equipment in fluid bed.
  • Demonstrate installation and takedown of fluid bed filters and proper care for them.
  • Setup the bowl in the post hoist and sift or mill the batch according to the batch sheet.
  • Demonstrate the use of a sifter and fitzmill safely following procedures and policies.
  • Demonstrate use of scale, tare weight, and test of scale and document.
  • Perform particle size, LOD, and tapped and bulk density tests and document on the batch sheet.
  • Clear understanding of SOPs, GMPs, Allergens, HACCP, Food Defense, Color Code, Documentation, Logbooks, Hand Washing, Uniform and Locker policy once fully trained.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • 0 to six months experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to follow direction and work with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
